Responsibilities:
• Cultivate key business relationships to call on designated prospective customers and solicit orders. Maintain good rapport and informs of sales promotions.
• Attend industry trade shows, supplier technical seminars and training courses to remain updated and maintains skill level on existing and new technology.
• Ensure that all customers and inside sales staff in the region receive necessary technical support.
• Contact suppliers and determine suitable products for the application.
• Prepare pricing for project quotes, prepare account proposals and negotiate terms of account with customers involving assigned products.
• Ensure that new high tech products are properly evaluated as to their suitability for customers’ requirements and compatibility with existing product lines.
• Develop technical training seminars for customers on new and existing products.
• Develop a list of prospective customers with the Branch Managers and contribute to customer profiles and mailing list.
• Compare pricing and market conditions to determine reasons for receiving or losing an order.
• Analyze competitive trends and strategies and the impact of new products marketed by competitors.
Skills & Qualifications:
Applicants for this position should have the following:
1. 2 – 3 years industrial experience, college degree in business or equivalent education and experience preferred;
2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AS400 an asset
3. Product knowledge of the electrical business is essential
