POSITION OVERVIEW:

Handles hardware and software requirements to support a 200+ sized Architectural, Engineering, and Construction firm with multiple locations.

The successful candidate must:

• be calm in high pressure situations
• be resourceful, accurate and detail oriented
• have outstanding trouble shooting skills
• possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
• be available to work on call, unusual hours or extended shifts when necessary
• be able to take responsibility and complete work with minimal supervision

RESPONSIBILITY:

• Assists with installation, testing, monitoring and maintenance of corporate-wide information technology systems
• Helps business operations utilize information systems to improve efficiency
• Provides Day-to-day support to the IT Manager on the Windows 2008 Active Directory Server Environment. Experience with the following required:
- Microsoft Exchange 2007
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Blackberry Enterprise Server
- IIS Server
- ISA Server
- SQL Server
- Symantec End-Point
- Symantec BackupExec
- Windows XP Professional/Windows 7
- VPN
- TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP
• Assists with end user desktop support to office employees on a variety of issues; including setting up computer stations, solving printer problems, etc.
• Responds to telephone calls, emails, and personnel requests for technical support from the staff
• Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems with backend and front-end platforms
• Supports company telephone system, A/V, copier and other peripheral technology requirements

Software Support/Programming

• Experience in the following areas would be an asset:
- Designs, builds, implements and maintains a company intranet
- Troubleshoots software applications
- Designs, builds, implements and maintains customized reports using Crystal Report Writer/MS Access
- Designs, builds, implements and maintains various MS Access databases for projects, HR data, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 7 years related work experience
• Crystal Report writing would be an asset
• Intranet development experience would equally be an asset
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills are a must
• Graduate of technical school with University degree, IT diploma or certificate
• MCP, MCSA, MCDBA, MCSE an asset
