Due to organizational growth, we are currently seeking a Telecommunications Systems Analyst (TSA) to join our team in Winnipeg or Markham.

THE ROLE:

The main function of the Telecommunications Systems Analyst (TSA) is to provide customer support, planning, capacity management and reporting for the Ceridian Voice Services (CVS) system. The TSA provides tier 2 support to the CVS team and escalates issues to the appropriate vendor for resolution. This position is generally responsible for the overall support of the entire CVS environment.

Reports to: Manager, Telecommunications Services

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides overall Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for the entire CVS environment from an administration and planning perspective Must be able to perform basic and advanced Avaya systems administration functions to the Avaya CVS infrastructure Provides support and back up support when other CVS team members are backlogged or absent Escalates issues and trouble tickets to vendors for resolution as required Follows up to ensure activities are within SLA timeframes Completes Change Controls and outage reports Identifies and escalates ongoing issues and troubles to management for awareness and resolution Keeps up to date with new Avaya technology and industry trends Interfaces and escalates with other Ceridian teams to resolve issues when required May require occasional after hours work or shift change Additional responsibilities include: Identifying problems, manages capacity, preparing reports to management, making recommendations to avoid potential future problems Assists with budgeting and planning process May require occasional after hours work or shift change May be required to meet with business to analyze and recommend solutions to accommodate changing business needs Meets with Avaya to understand new product offerings Works closely with vendors associated with the CVS environment
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Should have at least seven years experience with installation, operation and maintenance of telecommunication and network equipment MAC activity in an Avaya environment Very good knowledge and understanding of voice and data transport methods including ATM, VPN and MPLS. Must have a good understanding of VoIP Very good knowledge and understanding of local access methods and long distance services Must be able to work in a team environment and work well in a multi team environment Must be able to demonstrate leadership, initiative and ability to pay attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and work in an environment that can have multiple distractions Must demonstrate initiative, strong problem-solving abilities, high level of personal flexibility, effective verbal and written communication skills and very good analytical skills Must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills Must be able to pay great attention to detail Requires more then ten years of telecommunications and network experience
